Material examined. 9 ♂♂ “N-Vietnam, Cao Bang Pr., Nguyen Binh Dis., Phia Oac-Phia Den N.P., light trap, 20.v.2020, 22°37’41’’N, 105°54’41’’E, 857 m leg. T.V. Hoang & P.V. Pham ” (IEBR) .

Remarks. Ahrens & Fabrizi (2018) simply overlooked the previously described species, Gastroserica wenzhui Liu & Ahrens, 2014 . The holotypes of G. wenzhui Liu & Ahrens, 2014 and G. skalei Ahrens & Fabrizi, 2018 are virtually almost identical in shape of aedeagus, their type localities are adjacent to each other.
