Remarks: A species described from the old “ Guinea portugaise” (Guérin-Méneville 1849), but recorded later to several countries of Africa. Like M. Bocandé (in Guérin-Méneville 1849) we found this species only once near the edges of an inland moor (Serrano 1995). Werner (2000b) claims that it is a forest species and he captured the adults through light trapping in Ethiopia, as happened with us in Guinea-Bissau.
