Lepidura tenebrosa Dasch, 1974 . 18, 20, 476 (Original description, keyed, comparative illustration of metasoma); Lanfranco, 1980. 79 (Listed).

Diagnosis: Antenna dark brown. Body mostly green. Head green with supra-antennal area dark brown. Propodeum without areola, but with subpentagonal area delimited by complete lateral longitudinal and posterior transverse carina and incomplete anterior transverse and median longitudinal carina. Prothorax and mesothorax, anterior and posterior margin of all tibiae, all tarsi, anterior and posterior margins of T2, anterior portion of T3, posterior portion of T5 and metasomal segments 6–9, including anterior half of gonoforceps in males, hypopygium and ovipositor sheath in females, dark brown. T2 at least 2.50× as long as wide.

Type material: Holotype female (CNC, examined).

Type locality: CHILE: Región De Bío-Bío: Pichimahuel .

Distribution (Fig. 13): CHILE: Región de la Araucanía: Parque Nacional Nahuelbuta (Dasch, 1974). Región De Bío-Bío: Pichimahuel (Dasch, 1974). *Caramávida.

Material Examined: 1 female: Holotype, Pichimahuel, Cordillera Nahuelbuta, Arauco, Chile, at 1, 100 - 1, 400 “meters”, Jan. 10-20, L. Peña (CNC). 1 female: Caramavida, Nahuelbuta (W) (Arauco), 729, 1000 mt, 5, 10 Febr. 1953, Coll: L. E. Pena (FSCA).

Comment on type: Carina weakly delimited when compared to the other species, which show well developed carina. Some specimens may show median longitudinal carina weakly projecting towards center of propodeum. The holotype’s specimen label does not state the collection year.
