Chroococcidiopsis sp.1 (Fig. 9Q–T; 10A–B).
Colonies round to elongated, 6.56–17.52 µm wide. Sheath firm, thin, smooth, non-lamellated, hyaline to brown. Cells rounded to irregular, 1.87–5.51 µm wide. Without individual envelopes. Cell content homogeneous grayish-purple.
Habitat:— Dry tree bark associated to Aphanothece densa and Chlorogloea sp.1; tree bark inside the forest associate to Gloeocapsopsis sp.1 and Pycnacronema rubrum .
Notes:— The morphotype also has a life cycle similar to Chroococidiopsis kashayi (Friedmann, 1961), but this morphotype is unique by its sheath color, cell dimensions and corticolous habitat.
