Lyngbya ocreata Gardner (1927: 39) (Fig. 10K).

Filaments solitary, 6.42–9.7 µm wide. Trichomes cylindrical, not constricted. Sheath firm, smooth, 0.9–1.5 µm wide, up to 3 lamellae, hyaline to yellowish-brown. Cells short, 4.28–7.57 µm wide, 0.84–2.73 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.26. Apical cell rounded to rounded-conical, without calyptra or thickening. Cell content granulated, bright green. Necridia present.

Habitat: —Wet soil; associated with Aphanothece pallida and Gloeothece samoensis .
