Porphyrosiphon ceylanicus (Wille) Anagnostidis et Komárek (1988: 409) (Fig. 10H–I).

Basonym: Lyngbya ceylanica Wille (1914: 161) .

Filaments solitary, 14.85–22.45 µm wide. Sheath firm, 1.33–6.21 µm wide, smooth, 1–2 lamellae, hyaline to intense red. Trichome cylindrical, unbranched, not constricted. Cells isodiametric to subquadrate, 9.01–12.77 µm wide, 5.01–10.75 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.73. Apical cell conical to rounded-conical, without calyptra or thickening. Cell content granulated, blue-green. With necridia.

Habitat:— Soil; associated with Schizothrix telephoroides .
