Gloeocapsa novacekii Komárek et Anagnostidis (1995: 19) (Fig. 8J–K).
Colonies round to amorphous, 9.94–73.06 (166.68) µm wide. Sub-colonies amorphous. Sheath firm, non-lamellate, hyaline, red to intensity reddish. Cells densely or sparsely arranged, spherical, (1.46) 2–6.23 µm diam. Individual envelopes firm, 0.46–2.79 µm wide, lamellate, hyaline, red to intensity reddish. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Cell in resisting stage solitary or in pairs, spherical, 5.61–7.06 µm diam. Sheath firm, granulated, non-lamellated, red to intense reddish. Cell content homogeneous, blue-green.
Habitat:— Rock totally exposed to the sun, associated with Gloeocapsopsis dvorakii and Scytonema schmidtii .
