Scytonema stuposum Bornet ex Bornet et Flahault (1886: 92) (Fig. 13J–L).

Filaments entangled, erect or slightly coiled, 11.78–21.49 μm wide. Sheath firm, 1,38–4,35 μm wide, smooth, lamellated or not. Trichomes cylindrical, false geminate branched, constricted. Cells short, 10.52–17.01 μm wide, 2.37–4.89 (6.48) μm long, ratio l/w = 0.30. Apical cell conical-rounded. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Heterocyte ellipsoidal to sub-quadratic, 9.83–16.5 μm wide, 2,82–7,6 μm long, in intercalary position.
