Scytonema javanicum Bornet ex Bornet et Flahault (1886: 95) (Fig. 13D–E).

Filaments solitary, 12.87–18.66 µm wide. Sheath firm, 1.11–3.85 µm wide, up to 2 lamellae, brown. Trichomes cylindrical false geminate or single branched, constricted. Apical cell rounded. Cells isodiametric to short, (7.51) 8.02– 13.74 µm wide, 5.11–10.75 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.74. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Heterocyte isodiametric to short, 8.92–15.29 µm wide, 4.01–9.43 µm long, in intercalary position. Necridia present. Without hormogonia.

Habitat: —Wet soil covered by moss.
