Brasilonema cf. sennae (Komárek) C.L. Sant’Anna et J. Komárek in Sant’Anna et al. (2011: 57) (Fig. 12M–P).
Filaments forming fascicles conical, erect on substrate, 10.01–15.92 μm wide. Sheath firm, 1.12–3.18 μm wide, 2– 4 lamellae, hyaline to brown. Apical cell rounded. Trichome cylindrical, false geminate branches rare. Cells sub-quadratic to short, 7.33–11.57 μm wide, 5.17–13.86 (15.02) μm long, ratio l/w = 0.88. Cell content granulated, olive-green. Heterocyte semielliptical, intercalary position, 7.67–14.03 μm wide, 4.35–13.02 μm long. Hormogonia up to 21 cells, constricted.
Habitat: —Steep slope next to the road.
Notes: —This morphotype differs from Brasilonema sennae by its habitat and cell l/w ratio.
