Remarks. Specimen CAS 3251 was collected in 1927 by Smedley in a small stream at Mandai, yet the earliest published record of O. sumatrana from Singapore comes from Taylor (1962) who examined a specimen he likely collected (“M. 146”) and deposited at Chulalongkorn University. Furthermore, there are nine additional specimens at BPBM and FMNH collected between 1951 and 1959 around MacRitchie and NSSF. Three of these were examined by Inger (1966), but he did not provide any details on date and location. Occidozyga sumatrana was not reported again from Singapore until 22 years later (Table 2) when the first field observation was published by Lim (1988f) who found it common in shallow, leaf-littered streams of SRF and NSSF. Previously only known from CNR, populations were found at PT in 2002 (Lim et al. 2016) and WC in 2005 (Teo & Thomas 2019).

Occurrence. Wide-ranging. Locally common.

Singapore conservation status. Near-Threatened.

Conservation priority. Moderate.

IUCN conservation status. Least Concern [2022].
