Remarks. Sworder (1925) mentioned a juvenile G. borneensis (= G. bellii, see Denzer & Manthey 1991) at the Raffles Museum (ZRC 2.887) collected in Singapore by Saunders in 1922. Examination of this specimen revealed that it actually is Aphaniotis fusca . Referencing Sworder’s (1925) record, Smith (1930) asserted that the locality is most certainly erroneous, given that G. bellii inhabits elevated forests near broad streams (Grismer 2011), precluding its presence in Singapore.
