Oreocnide tremula Handel-Mazzetti (1931b: 297) .
Type:— CHINA. Guangdong [Kwangtun]:? Shaoguan [Schautschou], [Lungtou-schan], elev. ca. 700 m, 20 September 1917, R. E. Mell 930 (holotype WU0035568) . One paratype in CQNM: CHINA. Guangxi [Kwangsi]: Luocheng Xian [Lucheng], Du Feng Shan [Chu Feng Shan], 15 km SW Sanfang [Shan Fang], elev. ca. 640 m, 7 June 1928, R. C. Ching 5779 (as “ 5775 ” in the protologue) (CQNM0004989, IBSC0356277, NAS00070478, NAS00070479, PE00023274) .
= Archiboehmeria atrata (Gagnepain 1928: 556) C.J.Chen (1980: 479) .
Note: —In the protologue, R. E. Mell 930 was designated as type without specifying the herbarium. Only one sheet of this gathering is traced at WU, and this is most probably the holotype. In addition, Handel-Mazzetti (1931b) also cited two gatherings of R. C. Ching (5713 and “ 5775 ”) from Guangxi as paratypes. However, R. C. Ching “ 5575 ” is the type of Vittaria nana Ching (1929: 11) . After searching the specimens in the herbarium, the collecting number “ 5575 ” should be a typographical error of R. C. Ching 5579, collected on the same date from the same locality as R. C. Ching 5775.On the duplicates of R. C. Ching 5579, it bears the label with annotation of “ Oreocnide tremula Hand. -Maz., nov. sp.”.
