Genus Thubdora Park, 2018

(Subfamily Torodorinae)

Type species: Thubdora acutalis Park, 2018 . Type locality: Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) .

The genus Thubdora Park is one of the largest genera of the subfamily Torodorinae, comprising 39 known species (Park et al. 2020a; Park & Cho 2021) in the Afrotropical Region. The genus is superficially similar to Ptilothyris Walsingham, 1891, by having a similar venation, but can be distinguished by the antenna not bipectinated, and the forewing not so elongated with more or less rounded apex. The male genitalia are also similar but differentiated from those of the latter by the usually elongated uncus with a truncate or convex caudal margin, or bifurcated apically, whereas it is broadly developed, expanded distally as a fan-shaped plate in Ptilothyris .
