170. * Trichia lutescens (Lister) Lister, J. Bot. 35: 216 (1897)

Specimen examined. PERU. Ayacucho: Lucanas, Santiago de Vado, route PE-30A, km 105, 3850m, 14º38′24.3”S, 74º17′28.2”W, 27 Sep 2012, branch of Asteraceae, Lado 21814 (MA-Fungi 94584) .

Notes. Similar to T. affinis, T. favoginea and T. persimilis, with yellowish fruiting bodies and iridescent peridium, differing by the spore ornamentation, warted or spinulose in T. lutescens and reticulate in the other species. According to Lado & Pando (1997) and Poulain et al. (2011), spiral bands in the capillitium of T. lutescens are smooth, while the spirals bear spines up to 5 µm long in the Peruvian material, yet this variation may be the result of distinct environmental conditions.
