Specimens examined. PERU. Ancash: Huaraz, Cajamarquilla, 4233 m, 9º40′24.5”S, 77º41′46.0”W, 22 Apr 2013, leaves of Puya raimondii, Lado 23059 (MA-Fungi 95224). Moquegua: Mariscal Nieto, Torata, route PE-34D, km 76, 4130 m, 16º58′45.0”S, 70º41′29.9”W, 7 Oct 2012, bark of Polylepis rugulosa, Lado 22186 (MA-Fungi 94739, USM) .

Notes. The Peruvian specimens matched the original description of the species in Lister (1911), with triple peridium, a brownish outer layer and floriform dehiscence. However, they differ by the spore diameter, 13–16 µm in the studied material vs. 10–12 µm in the original description. Poulain et al. (2011) recognize the var. macrospora Eliasson, with a similar spore diameter to that in the Peruvian specimens. It may be this variety, but we could not study this material.
