Notes. Lado & Pando (1997) and Poulain et al. (2011) considered this species to be in the genus Hemitrichia, while we retain it in Arcyria —as Martin & Alexopoulos (1969) already stated— since molecular studies confirmed its phylogenetic position within Arcyria (García-Cunchillos et al. 2022) . The morphology of this species is variable, yet all specimens have spore-like bodies inside the stalk, spores with prominent warts, and capillitium ornamented with spirals.
