Specimen examined. PERU. Arequipa: Caylloma, Tuti, course to Tisco, 4196 m, 15°33′11”S, 71°34′16”W, 27 May 2017, on leaf litter of Baccharis sp. and Poaceae debris, Treviño Myx 88 (MA-Fungi 97923, HSP) .

Notes. Macroscopically, it is similar to C. pulchella, differing by its looped capillitium in the periphery. It also may resemble Comatricha longipila Nann. -Bremek., but the spores are larger at 8-9 µm diam. vs. 6–7 µm in C. longipila (Nannenga-Bremekamp 1991) .
