Specimen examined. PERU. Moquegua: Mariscal Nieto, Torata, route PE-34D, km 76, 4130 m, 16º58′45.0”S, 70º41′29.9”W, 7 Oct 2012, bark of Polylepis rugulosa, Lado 22181 (MA-Fungi 94735) .

Notes. The nodules or globular widenings in the capillitium become noticeable towards the periphery. This specimen (Fig. 3A) fructified in the natural habitat. Known from U.S.A., India and France (Poulain et al. 2011), it has been recorded for the first time in the Neotropics, inhabiting the bark of Polylepis trees in the department of Moquegua.
