Specimen examined. PERU. Arequipa: Caylloma, Caylloma-Chivay community, route AR-109 to Chivay, km 57, 4823 m, 15º44′00”S, 71º35′45”W, 23 Apr 2016, leaves of Pycnophyllum sp., Lado 24711 (MA-Fungi 95970) .

Notes. The material studied matched the description of the species according to Nannenga-Bremekamp (1991) and Martin & Alexopoulos (1969) yet differed by having more abundant capillitium and spores of larger diameter, 15–18 µm in the Peruvian material vs. 13–15 µm (Martin & Alexopoulos 1969) or 13–16 µm (Nannenga-Bremekamp 1991). Since only one collection matched this description, we cannot ascertain the stability of this character in the area studied.
