Ultragryllacris pulchra nan Ingrisch, 2018; Cadena-Castañeda, 2019
Materials examined: 2 females (AUP-02020–AUP-02021); Thailand, Nan Prov., Bo Kluea District, Forest beside the main road, 850– 900 m ., 5.X.2018, coll. P. Dawwrueng (AUP).
Description of female (nov.). General appearance (including armament of legs) similar to that of holotype (male) but distinguished by black dorsum of head practically without any light spots or almost only with light posteromedian area (Figs. 9–10, 22–23), and black area on anterior part of pronotum without light median interruption (Figs 22–23). Subgenital plate gradually narrowing to narrowly subtruncate (almost rounded) apex and with large and transversally oval sclerotized area located in median part of wide transverse membranous band at base (Fig. 75); ovipositor long, straight, gradually narrowing toward narrowly rounded (almost subacute) apex (Fig. 67).
Comparison. The female of this subspecies differs from that of other known congeners by the presence of oval sclerotized area and membranous transverse band in the basal part of subgenital plate; in U. pulchra, U. rubricapitis and U. alboclypeata, the basal part of subgenital plate is without characteristic membranous band and with different shape of the sclerotized area (compare Figs 72, 74, 76), and also with characteristic process on male 9 th abdominal tergite which different from that of male of U. pulchra (distinctly wider in apical part than in U. pulchra, and not convex ventrally in lateral view). We combined these characters for made the decision to raise this subspecies to full species.
