Chrysis ehrenbergi (Dahlbom, 1845)

Platycelia Ehrenbergi Dahlbom, 1845: 8 . Holotype [or syntypes] ♀; Egypt (NHRS, examined) ( ehrenbergi group). Mocsáry (1892: 233, Uzbekistan: Kyzyl-kum desert, possible misidentification).

Chrysis ehrenbergii: Dalla Torre 1892: 58. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

Remarks. This old identification is likely erroneous and should refer to one of the species subsequently described within the ehrenbergi group from Central Asia, such as Chrysis uzbekistana Rosa in Rosa et al., 2017a (from Uzbekistan), or possibly C. ellampia Bohart in Kimsey & Bohart, 1991 and C. fabulosa Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1967 (both from Turkmenistan). Chrysis ehrenbergi is a North African species, also known from Palestine and the Arabian Peninsula (Linsenmaier 1999).
