Remarks: B. contorta, distributed in Pantropical Regions, was first reported in sands of a beach in the Hawaiian littoral (Christiansen & Bellinger 1992, 1994). From Rio de Janeiro, this species occurs in “Restingas” of Itaipuaçu, Maricá, Marambaia (Fernandes & Mendonça 2004; 2007) and it is registered for the first time for Costa do Sol State Park.
