Material examined. NMW: Holotype (♂), allotype (♀) and paratypes (8 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀), Iran, Derbent (= Darband), 2000 m, 25 km N. Teheran (= Tehrân), 2000 m, 7.–15.vi.[19]63, leg. Kasy & Vartian.
Diagnosis. Dyspessa elbursensis derbenti Daniel, 1964 is very light colored (including hind wing), with light streaks in the discal area of the forewing. Furtheremore, its forewing has a relatively sharp angle (Fig. 6B). However, D. elbursensis is well distinguished by a dark pattern of the wings, a blunt shorter forewing, and the dark gray hind wing (Fig. 6C). Based on the direct examination of the type specimens and the above mentioned differences, D. elbursensis derbenti Daniel, 1964 is here raised to the species level.
