Phaneroptera (Phaneroptera) neglecta (Karny, 1926)

Material examined. 1 male (Siargao18_1) and 1 female (Siargao18_2), Barangay Katipunan, Del Carmen, N9.87639, E126.00899, 21.2± 6.4 m, 7 April 2018, 1819 hours, on Asteraceae capitulum; 1 male (Siargao18_83), Barangay Katipunan, Del Carmen, N9.87634, E126.00893, 19.6± 5.1 m, 17 October 2018, 2019 hours, on flowers.

A relatively unknown species of Phaneroptera known only from the Philippines. We provide images of living individuals. Closely allied to Phaneroptera furcifera Stål, 1874 also from the Philippines but most easily recognised by the male subgenital plate (Ragge, 1956). They are almost always observed on flowers and floriphilic, characteristic of congeners from the region (Tan et al., 2017c).
