Pseudopomyzella flava Hennig

Pseudopomyzella flava Hennig, 1969: 595, Figs 5–6, 9, 11, 20, 22. Type-locality: Peru, Madre de Díos, Avispas; Prado, 1984: 1 (catalog); Carvalho-Filho & Esposito, 2011: 196, Figs 1–3 (redescription). Type locality: Madre de Dios, Peru. Holotype male, CNC.

Diagnosis. Species with head and thorax dark yellow to orange-yellow with the following brown markings: frontal vitta with light brown bands at lateral margin, scutum with two dark brown parallel stripes dorsally from the anterior margin of the scutum to the scutellar apex, pleura with a dark spot on the superior margin of the anepisternum, hind femur with an anterodorsal preapical brown spot, fore and hind tibiae brown with basal 1/4 of hind tibia yellow, fore and hind tarsus brown. First flagellomere rounded in lateral view, arista short pubescent. Wing hyaline with a brown spot between veins R 2+3 and C, and in apex of cell r 2+3. Abdomen predominantly brown except tergite 1 yellow with two pale brown spots on posterolateral margin, tergite 2 with a large median yellow triangular spot at anterior margin, tergite 6 with yellow stripes laterally, and sternites yellow.

Geographical distribution. Neotropical— Brazil (Amazonas*, Amapá*, Maranhão*, Pará), Ecuador (Napo Pastaza Prov.), Peru (Madre de Díos; Fig. 3).
