Current name: Osteospermum polygaloides L. ( Asteraceae).

Note: Norlindh (Stud. Calendulae 1: 145. 1943) treated material in LINN as the type but this choice is pre-dated by that of Merrill, and the material in LINN associated with this name in any case appears to have reached Linnaeus after 1753.
