Oxalis sensitiva Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 434. 1753.

"Habitat in India." RCN: 3375.

Type not designated.

Original material: Herb. Hermann 1: 28, No. 180 (BM); Herb. Hermann 3: 54, No. 180 (BM); [icon] in Rheede, Hort. Malab. 9: 33, t. 19. 1689; [icon] in Zanoni, Istoria Bot.: 199, t. 61. 1675; [icon] in Garcin in Philos. Trans. 36(415): 378, t. 2. 1731.

Current name: Biophytum sensitivum (L.) DC. ( Oxalidaceae).

Note: See the extensive treatment by Veldkamp (in Taxon 38: 110-116. 1989). He concludes that none of the varied and various elements within Linnaeus’ very broad species concept can be chosen as a lectotype, and instead chooses 600.38 LINN as a neotype. However, with the existence of original material, this choice is contrary to Art. 9.11.
