Plumolepilius macalajauensis Barrios-Izás & Anderson, new species

Diagnosis. Male. Length (1.90–2.05 mm). Width (1.15–1.20 mm). Subovate, dark orange, infused with yellow, coarsely punctate. Vestiture of clavate, recumbent scales, yellow, adpressed, triangular on mesepisternum. Rostrum stout, surface almost smooth, antenna setulose, scape clavate, slightly longer than desmomeres 1 and 2 together. Pronotum constricted at apex, subquadrate, coarsely punctate. Elytra with humeri angulate, not produced, multituberculate, most of tubercles torous, 2 large conical tubercles at elytral declivity extending from fourth interstice to first striae. Abdominal ventrite 5 with 2 tufts of setae at apex. Femora unarmed. Pedon subparallel, apodemes 2.4X longer than pedon, anterior genital sclerite as basal ring with two projections forming capsule, posterior sclerite broad, flat.

Female. Length (2.10 mm). Width (1.10 mm). Elytra tuberculate, but tubercles laterally flattened.

Derivation of the specific name. Named after the village of Macalajau in Quiche.
