Cephalocoris Stein, 1860: 79 ( junior homonym of Cephalocoris Heer, 1853, fossil Heteroptera; synonymized by Baerensprung, 1860: 12). Type species: Acanthia intrusa Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835 .

Diagnosis. Recognized by body generally oval with densely golden pubescences and with distinct punctures on the whole body dorsally; head flattened (Figs. 1 A–C); ocelli present on vertex; width of compound eye approximately as wide as vertex; antennae originated at ventral margin of head (Figs. 1 D–G); antennae cylindrical in form; second antennal segment longest; hemelytra with one cell; tarsi with two segments (Fig. 1 J).
