Phobeticomyia spinosa Sasakawa, 1987: 7 . Type locality: Thailand (Doi Chang Khian, Ciang Mai).
Diagnosis. Antenna yellow except scape and pedicel black, 1st flagellomere tinged brown on apical 1/2. Wing (Fig. 11) with a hyaline stripe at extreme tip; two hyaline spots between R2+3 and R4+5; a hyaline rectangular spot basal to r-m and a hyaline T–shaped spot below r-m in discal cell; a hyaline stripe through dm-cu and lacking a hyaline subapical stripe in m1 cell; and a hyaline stripe along hind margin of cua1 cell straight, not undulating. Abdomen black, with grayish white pollen. Male genitalia (Figs. 23–27): protandrium circular; epandrium nearly U–shaped in posterior view; surstylus with a small triangular apical process and a curved inner process with an apical tooth in lateral view; hypandrium nearly X–shaped, gonopod narrow and hook–shaped; aedeagus consisting of a pair of sclerites, with two pairs of outer lateral teeth and a pair of inner dorsal teeth.
