Genus Conocephalus Thunberg, 1815

Diagnosis. Body slender and small size. Antennae two times as long as body or more; fastigium of vertex broad, obtuse, ventral portion not produced or forming a hook, vertex more or less laterally flat, apex of vertex rounded, not surpassing the frontal fastigium, and usually higher than head by lateral view, lateral lobe of pronotum oblique, triangular shaped with a translucent secondary tympanum near the hind margin above auditory organ. Tegmina shorter than hind wings. Fore, mid and hind femora dorsally unarmed. Prosternum armed by two spines. Ovipositor sword-shaped and brim smooth. Cerci of male provided with one inwardly directed tooth.
