Genus Buticulotrema Blend, Dronen & McEachran, 1993

The only species in this genus Buticulotrema stenauchenus Blend, Dronen & McEachran, 1993, is reported from the macrourid fishes, the western softhead grenadier Malacocephalus occidentalis Goode & Bean, the common Atlantic grenadier Nezumia aequalis (Günther) and the glasshead grenadier Hymenocephalus italicus Giglioli, in the deep-waters of the Gulf of Mexico (Blend et al. 1993, Blend in Klimpel et al. 2001).
