Cirrothaumatia tornocarpa (Meyrick, 1932)
(Figs. 8, 17–18)
Type-locality: Lino, [Boquete Dist., Chiriquí], Panama.
Diagnosis. Wing expanse 12 mm female (n = 1). The female genitalia of this species are distinct, with a small semicircular signum on the bursa wall (Fig. 8), and the absence of the lateral carina-like cestum of most of the other species in the genus; it also lacks an accessory bursa.
Holotype. Female, Lino (800 m), [Boquete Dist., Chiriquí], Panama, [1930?] (gen. slide J. Razowski-4230) (NHMV).
Biology. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from western Panama (Chiriquí).
Discussion. While the wing maculation is similar to other species of the genus, the female genitalia do not conform, hence, the male is necessary to verify whether this species belongs in Cirrothaumatia .
