Genus Lasiopogon Loew
Lasiopogon Loew, 1847: 508 (as a subgenus of Dasypogon Meigen, 1803). Type species: Dasypogon (Lasiopogon) pilosellus Loew, 1847 .
Daulopogon Loew, 1874: 377 .
Alexiopogon Curran, 1934: 183.
Species of the genus Lasiopogon are characterized by their wing venation (without a stalked cell m3) (Fig. 2), high, prominent facial gibbosity (Fig. 3) and widely divided, pendulous epandrial lobes (Fig. 5), characters which easily separate them from the genus Stichopogon . Cannings (2002) includes use of the posterior coxal peg, a character which does not pertain to any of our South Korean species.
In his comprehensive work on the systematics of the genus Lasiopogon, Cannings (2002) lists 16 related species from the eastern Palaearctic.
