Lasiopogon hinei Cole & Wilcox, 1938: 51 . Lasiopogon sibiricus Lehr, 1984: 704 .
Small, 8mm brown and black flies. Recognized by the halter’s diffused brown spot, partially covering the dorsal knob, and jet back integumental abdomen with long white hair.
Adult. Male.
Head: Face gold tomentose; vertex gold black with long black curved hair. Mystax hair sparse, black. Genal hair long, fine white merging into short black occipital bristles and longer proclinate black postocular bristles. Antenna black and brown. Segment 1 & 2 integumental brown; segment 3 brown at base, covered with light gray pollen. Other segments black. Relative length of segments: 3>F2+3>2>1. Thorax: Scutum light to dark brown. All bristles black. Distinct broad brown paramedian stripes extending to apex of thorax. Long black dense acrostical hair, long sparse posterior dorsocentrals. Chaetotaxy with: 2 presutural, 2 supraalar, and 2 postalar bristles. Scutellum gold pollinose, disc ringed with 1 row of sparse, weak hair, 2 stronger bristles. Pleura with gold pollen and tomentum. A widely spaced row of katatergal bristles. Posterior margin of anepisternum with sparse weak hair. Legs: Black with light gray pollen, black bristles and white and black hair. Femora with long fringes of fine white hair. All tibia with black sparse bristles. Wings: Tinged lightly brown. Halter with a diffused light brown spot, partially covering the dorsal surface of the knob. Abdomen: Male. Shiny jet-black integument with long white hair. Tergite 1 almost completely covered in gray pollen. Remaining tergites with thin gray pollinose apical bands. Male genitalia (Figs 11 & 12). Epandria integumental red/black with sparse gold pollen, yellow and black hair. Gonostylus rounded, bulbous on apices
Female. Unknown.

Field notes. Lasiopogon hinei are sympatric with Lasiopogon terneicus, Stichopogon cf. inaequalis, and Stichopogon nartshukae .
