Figs 3, 30–32 (♀), 4, 64, 69, 74, 75 (♂)
Calymmochilus delphinus Askew in Askew & Nieves-Aldrey 2004: 32, 35, 36. Holotype ♀, MNCN, re-examined by LF. Type locality: Spain, Granada, Calahonda. Calymmochilus delphinus; Askew & Nieves-Aldrey 2017: 10 (distribution).
Diagnosis. Female. Macropterous. Mesosoma and head concolorous, dark brown with reduced metallic lustre (Fig. 3); gaster with mostly white to hyaline Gt1, and largely yellow Gt7 (syntergum) with a brown stripe running laterally from cercus to near the apex (Fig. 31), otherwise variably brown and usually with Gt2–Gt5 with a darker rim along distal margin resulting in a banded pattern. Legs and usually also scape almost uniformly yellow to yellow-brown (Fig. 3). Head not conspicuously modified, convex, with lower parascrobal region passing smoothly into gena (Fig. 32). Clypeus protuberant, convex, apically serrate. Scrobal depression deep, with sloping, noncarinate sides, entirely reticulate (Fig. 32). Frontovertex between ocellar triangle and scrobal depression reticulate (Fig. 32). Mesoscutum reticulate virtually to posterior margin. Mesoscutellum and axillae differentiated and distinct, scutellum slightly convex. Acropleuron uniformly strongly reticulate, though mesally with smaller mesh size (Fig. 30). Fore wing clear except for darker base.
Male. Body brown with almost no metallic lustre (Fig. 4). Head in exact dorsal view (Fig. 75) 4.5–4.7× breadth of an eye measured along a transverse axis as in figure 73. Frontovertex between ocellar triangle and scrobal depression uniformly reticulate though cells delineated by only slightly raised ridges (Fig. 74). Scrobal depression including scrobes smooth and shiny except for superficially sculptured outer margins (Fig. 74). Funicle with first segment plus strongly reduced anellus 2.1–2.4× as long as wide (Fig. 64). Mesoscutum uniformly reticulate virtually to posterior margin, with cells delineated by slightly raised ridges. Mesoscutellum reticulate (in very small specimens coriaceous-reticulate) except frenal area coriaceous (Fig. 4 insert). Metascutellum transverse-ovoidal, with lateroventral corners abruptly sunken (Fig. 69). Fore wing stigma an elongated rectangle; uncus frequently almost to fully as long as height of stigma (Fig. 59).
Distribution. Previously known only from continental Spain (Askew & Nieves-Aldrey 2004). Here newly recorded for the Canary Islands, France and Greece. Reported by Askew and Nieves-Aldrey (2017) from Canary Islands based on the record in this paper.
