Distribution. The species is known from several localities in Honshu and one locality in Hokkaido, Japan (Fig. 49).
Remarks. Anthophagus sinuatus was originally described based on six specimens from Sapporo, Hokkaido. The female in better condition is designated as the lectotype in order to fix the identity of the name. Geodromicus watanabei Hayashi, 2018 was recently described from Ishikawa and Nagano prefectures (Hayashi 2018). Based on the morphological features provided in the original description and the shape of the aedeagus (Hayashi 2018: fig. 4) it is conspecific with G. sinuatus, hence the synonymy proposed above. The record of G. sinuatus by Li (1992) from Jilin, China (“[…] Changbai Mountain […]” [translation from Chinese by L. Tang]) seems doubtful and requires confirmation. Aedeagus as in Figs. 45–46.
