Exsecochrysis Linsenmaier, 1985

Exsecochrysis Linsenmaier, 1985: 462 as subgenus of Neochrysis Linsenmaier, 1959 . Type: Neochrysis (Exsecochrysis) gracilia Linsenmaier, 1985 by original designation. Synonym of Pleurochrysis Bohart, 1966 according to Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 523).

Exsecochrysis: reinstated by Lucena et al. (2024: 29) to accommodate species previously included in Pleurochrysis Bohart, 1966 by Kimsey & Bohart (1991).

The genus Exsecochrysis Linsenmaier includes four species, all of them found in Brazil: Exsecochrysis adnexa (Linsenmaier, 1997), Exsecochrysis alfkeni (Ducke, 1902), Exsecochrysis allotria (Linsenmaier, 1985), and Exsecochrysis gracilia (Linsenmaier, 1985) .
