Pelmatops Enderlein, 1912
Pelmatops Enderlein, 1912: 355 . Type-species: Achias ichneumoneus Westwood, 1850, by original designation.
Enderlein (1912) proposed Pelmatops for a single species, Achias ichneumoneus Westwood, 1850, from India. Zia & Chen (1954) added P. fukienensis from Fujian, China. Chen et al (2010) revised the genus, added a new species, P. tangliangi, from China, India and Vietnam, and provided a key. In recent years, new information on the distribution and biology has been accumulated. The northernmost extent of the distribution of the genus is now known to be Shaanxi Province in central China. Detailed ecological data for P. ichneumoneus (from Yunnan, China) and P. tangliangi (from Tam Dao, Vietnam) were recorded and analyzed, and the behaviour of these two species in the field was observed and recorded for the first time. In summary, Pelmatops includes three species, with known distribution in the Oriental Region (southern China, India, Vietnam, and Nepal) and the Oriental- Palearctic transition zone (central China).
