Type: “Hab. ad nives in regione superiori montis Davros dagh alt. 5–6000' in Pisidiâ (Heldreich), in Macedoniae alpibus si specimen a cl. Friwuldsky mihi sub Th. alpini nomine missum hùc rectè refero”.

Lectotypus (designated by FRANZÉN, 1986: 324): TURKEY: “Région supérieure du Davros-Dagh”, 5000'–6000' [1520–1830 m], 28.V.1845, Heldreich 740 (G-BOIS [G00332515]; isolecto-: B, BM [BM000582804], G [G00383953, G00383958], G-BOIS [G00332516], JE [JE00004182], K [K000484268], P [P01817561], W [W0050740, W18890010578]) . Syntypus: SINE PATRIA: “Macedonia”, s.d., Frivaldszky s.n . (G-BOIS [G00797085]) .

Notes. – MEYER (2006c: 95), followed by AL-SHEHBAZ (2014: 43), erroneously attributed the lectotypification of the name to HEDGE (1965: 335) who only copied the locality data but did not designate any herbarium.

The isolectotypes are without a collection number.
