Female terminalia. Sternite VII (Figs 23, 24) 2x wider than long; posterior margin weakly produced medially forming short rounded lobe. Pygofer (Figs 15, 16) 1.8x longer than maximum height; posterodorsal and ventral margins rounded; macrosetae dispersed on apical half, except near dorsal and ventral margins; apex rounded. Internal sternite VIII membranous. First valvifer (Fig. 25) 1.6x longer than wide, not fused each other, lateral margins straight. First valvula (Fig. 25) slightly curved dorsally, 5.2x longer than wide; basal portion slightly produced anterad forming a small rounded lobe; ventral interlocking device extending over basal third; dorsal sculptured area striated in oblique lines with inconspicuous scale-like processes; apical portion (Fig. 26) with lateral carina, but without teeth, apex abruptly tapered and acute. Second valvula, in cross-section, with apical portion triangular, expanded laterally forming lateral carina, in lateral view (Fig. 19), 4x longer than wide, broadened medially; dorsal protuberance reduced; dorsal margin with about 5 minute teeth near apex; apical portion (Fig. 28) gradually narrowed to acute apex; ventral margin without denticles. Second valvifer (Fig. 29) about 2.7x longer than wide. Gonoplac (Fig. 29), 3x longer than wide; dorsoapical margin straight, oblique, with one-third length of gonoplac; ventral margin and apical potion (Figs 29, 30) with dentiform cuticular projections and few short setae; apex subacute.

Remarks. The female genitalia of Polana exornata are similar to the Polana-type in having the apical portion of the first valvula bearing a well developed lateral carina and the second valvula with the apical portion triangular in cross-section, forming a conspicuous lateral carina. However, as in P. eliasi sp. nov., the dorsal sculptured area of the first valvula has inconspicuous scale-like processes and the lateral carina is smooth, lacking serrations or well developed teeth that are present in the other species of Polana, which can be considered as transient characteristics between the strigate and the scale-like type of dorsal sculptured area and the presence\absence of teeth or serrations on the lateral carina of the apical portion of the first valvula.
