Material examined. Holotype male: FINLAND; Lk (Lapponia kemensis), Rovaniemi, Pisavaara, 19.viii.1957, R. Tuomikoski (MZH). Other material. Description (male). Head (Figs. 4, 5): Eye bridge 2 or 3 facets wide. Anterior vertex nonsetose, with pair of setigerous papilla or campaniform sensilla. Prefrons setose, setae (20–25) fine and strong. Clypeus with 1–3 setae. Antennal scape and pedicel normal. Antenna with 14 flagellomeres; flagellomeres subcylindrical, length/width of flagellomere 4 1.90–2.15, necks normal (Fig. 5 B). Flagellomeral vestiture of longer and shorter setalike sensillae and hyaline sensillae. Maxillary palp with 3 palpomeres, palpomere 1 with 1 seta, hyaline sensillae scattered or in indistinct patch (Fig. 4 C).
Thorax: Dark brown, setae pale. Notum with acrostichals in 1 row, dorsocentrals in 2 indistinct rows (similar to Fig. 4 B). Scutellum with both weak and strong setae. Posterior pronotum nonsetose. Anterior pronotum with 2 or 3 setae, episternum 1 with 5–8 setae. Wing: Length 1.3–1.6 mm, width/length 0.45, c/ w 0.50 –0.75, R1/R 0.45–0.50. Veins C and R setose, R5 with many dorsal and few ventral setae, bM, rm, M and Cu nonsetose. Anal lobe rather weak, similar to Fig. 4 A. Legs (Fig. 6): Brown. Femora slender, tibiae slender, straight; tibial spurs 1:2:2, the latter 2 subequal in size, longer than apical width of corresponding tibia. Front and middle tibia with few ventral and lateral, slightly stronger setae, hind tibia in addition with dorsal row of stronger setae. Retrolateral apical setae of hind tibia strong. Front tibia with row of few slightly modified setae on common basal plate, and 1 or few similar setae near row (Fig. 6 C). Tarsi normal, length of front basitasomere/length of front tibia 0.50–0.60. Tarsal claws simple. Abdomen: Pale brown, setae pale, fine. Normal. Sternite 8 with 3–6 setae. Hypopygium (Fig. 1): Gonocoxite normal, longer than gonostylus, with 1 ventral elongated seta at apicomesial corner, sides (halves) narrowly fused basoventrally, this intercoxal area simple. Gonostylus elongated, mesially slightly impressed, without apical tooth, with group of strong subapical and pair of mesial megasetae with distinct basal bodies. Tegmen nonmodified, with slightly sclerotized parameres and membraneous apical part. Aedeagus simple. Aedeagal teeth normal. Tergite 10 (cercus) normal. Sternite 10 with 1 seta on each half.
