Diagnosis. The species is easily recognized by the simple lower mandibular margin and by the combination of erect setae on frons and tergum I and the dark gaster. The clypeal projection is triangular. For further description see Pulawski (1992).
Geographic distribution. Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania to Egypt, Greece (Crete Island and Peloponnesus), Israel, Iran, Oman India and Sri Lanka.
Material examined. SENEGAL: 1 male 29.vi.2004 70 km W Tambacounda (OLL) . GREECE: 2 females and 5 males 24.vi.2012; 1 male 12.vii.2010 Karpathos Island, Lefkos (OLL) . IRAN: 1 male 20–29.vii.2013, Fars, Neyriz-Jaafarabad 29°16´N ;54°19´E; 1795 m (Jahrom Branch, Islamic Azad University).
