Maiestas Distant

Remarks. Species of this genus have been treated by Webb & Viraktamath (2009) and all placements in Maiestas were made in that publication. Previously, Dash & Viraktamath (1998) had described and figured these species under Deltocephalus (Recilia) Edwards. In the latter work a thin band-like structure was shown within the pygofer extending from the dorsal margin in lateral view (see Fig. 13 e). Upon examination this is a sclerotized lateral band of the Xth segment (see Figs 13 g–i).
