Oides bivittata Gahan, incertae sedis

(Figs 71A–71C)

Oides bivittata Gahan, 1891: 453 (Indonesia: Sulawesi?); Weise, 1924: 2 (catalogue, New Guinea); Wilcox, 1971: 5 (catalogue).

Types. Lectotype ♀ (BMNH), here designated, labeled: “ Celebes [h, w] // Baly Coll. [p, w] // Oides / bivittata / Type Gahan [h, w] // SYN- / TYPE [p, w, circle label with blue border] // Type [p, w, circle label with red border]”. Paralectotype. 1♀ (BMNH): “ Celebes [h, w] // Baly Coll. [p, w] // Oides / bivitattum / Baly / N. Guinea [h, w] // SYN- / TYPE [p, w, circle label with blue border] // vidit III-1 975. [h] / A. VACHON—det. [p, w]”

Remarks. Although both types were collected from the Celebes [Sulawesi] based on handwritten labels, Gahan (1891) doubted the locality and suspected that the specimens originated from the Aru islands instead. The identity of this species remains uncertain since both types are females.
