Described by Czerniavsky from Sebastopol, Crimea approximate coordinates 44.62°N 33.5°E (syntype (or holotype) ZIN-RAS 11405).

As indicated above I propose to merge the forma with the species Haliclona foraminosa (Czerniavsky, 1880) .
