Described by Czerniavsky from Novorossysk, Russia, approximate coordinates 44.68°N 37.82°E, depth 10 m, (syntypes ZIN-RAS 11425, label text differs somewhat from the published name). As indicated above I propose to assign the specimens to the species Haliclona foraminosa (Czerniavsky, 1880) .
