Suberites rugosa Kim & Sim, 2021: 175, fig. 7.
The name of this species described by Kim & Sim from Jeju-do, Sasudo, Korea, approximate coordinates 33.53°N 126.53°E, depth 30–35 m (holotype NIBRIV0000881727) is a junior primary homonym of Suberites rugosus Schmidt, 1868 (= currently Hymeniacidon rugosa or, more likely, H. perlevis (Montagu, 1814) from Algeria (no further data, type material in MNHN, ‘no. 28 de la collection’, cf. Topsent 1938: 20). Junior primary homonyms are permanently invalid and must be replaced (ICZN art. 57.2) regardless of the current assignment of the senior homonym. I propose Suberites simae nom.nov. named after Ms Chung Ja Sim.
