Spirastrella digitata Hentschel, 1909

Spirastrella digitata Hentschel, 1909: 385, pl. XXII fig. 7; text-fig. 18; Hooper & Wiedenmayer 1994: 372.

The species was described by Hentschel from Shark Bay, West Australia, approximate coordinates 25.7977°S 113.4396°E, 7–8 m (holotype ZMB 4487, with an unregistered type in ZMH, with a slide in BMNH). The name is a junior secondary homonym of Suberites inconstans var. digitata Dendy, 1887 (see below), as both are currently assigned to the genus Spheciospongia Marshall, 1892 . Below the species is proposed to be renamed as Spheciospongia hentscheli nom.nov.
